Feb 9, 2006 Valentine's Day Current mood:
indescribable
It's almost here. What is everyone thinking? "Damn, I hate this day!" "Oh I can't wait to see what he gets me." "I wonder where he's taking me." "50 bucks for flowers? I better get some head for this." Or will you be celebrating this day with a best friend/relative? You very well may be celebrating it alone. The person who made up Valentine's Day has got to be...I don't even know the word to describe what I'm thinking. But who would think to make up a day, ONE DAY out of the entire year, where people show how much they love each other? That should be happening everyday. And it's sad that it takes a day like this for some people to realize that. A woman shouldn't ONLY be showered with gifts on Valentine's day (sweetest day or her birthday either), just as a man shouldn't be showered with compliments (sex, or whatever floats his boat) on these limited occasions. A woman should always feel loved and appreciated. A man should always feel like he's the sh*t, ESPECIALLY on these commercial "I love you days". These days are not geared towards men. Look at the commercials you see on TV. The MEN are always purchasing jewelry for the women. And look at the gifts you see in the stores. They are all pink with hearts and flowers, all frilly and stuff. What man wants something like that? People, if you reflect back on the past month, and you can't remember the last time you told your significant other that you love them, you can't remember the last time you showed them how much you appreciate them, you can remember the last time you did something nice for them just for the hell of it, you need to start celebrating Valentine's Day a lot more often than February 14th. Personally, I think I might start celebrating it quarterly on the 14th, or maybe even monthly. Because it's a sad thing when you have love and lose it for lack of expressing love and appreciation in return.
