30 Day Challenge - Day 1: Your Best Friend

The 30 Day Letter Challenge

WRITE A LETTER TO THESE PEOPLE : Day 1 — Your Best Friend

Growing up, I always had the most difficult time finding that perfect fit - that one place in friendship where I felt I truly belonged. I mean I always knew a lot of people, and a lot of people always knew me, but no matter where I went, no matter what I did, I never quite felt at home. In school, I wouldn't go so far as to say that I was "popular" but I think everybody knew me, even if it was simply for my athleticism. But I never really found that fit.
When I graduated high school and went away to college (Hail to the orange. Hail to the blue), my goodness was I eager to find my fit! First semester freshman year, I was at every party (please note that my semester grades were 3A's, 1B, and 1F, and I will never took another 8am class every in life). I thought parties would be were I found my fit, but go figure, no such luck. Ultimately, I withdrew from the social scene and became quite the introvert...a home body. I didn't seem fit in ANYWHERE, so I stopped trying. I realized that I was trying to force my puzzle piece into the wrong puzzles, and no matter how well that puzzle piece may have fit, it was an eye sore. It just didn't belong.
One day I stumbled upon a different puzzle and accidentally dropped my puzzle piece. Lo and behold, IT FIT! And it's not because I fit in so well, but because there was a need. The moment I stopped trying to "fit in" is the moment I found my fit. Thank God for my need and thank God for my best friend NVUS. TTWBL!
